Hi!

I have sailed twice on pacific Sky once ex syd for 4 nights to Auckland and once ex Bris to 2 nights to nowhere.

Both times the cruises were brilliant and much fun was had.

The atmosphere both times was very much the party atmosphere and everyone I spoke to had a fantastic time.

Our age group was 25-30 and there were plenty of people around the same age as us. (I sailed with my brother)

Both our trips departed at 4pm and so dinner was served. We boarded both times around 1.30 and lunch wasnt served but we ate at the pizzeria and the food was great.

The Sydney to Auckland cruise obviously made a easterly direction the entire duration and swung around the tip of NZ for about the last day.

(Seas were a little rough on the 3rd day, but no sea sickness)

The Brisbane to no where left Brisbane waters and sailed north away from the coastline and we went as far north as Fraser Island and then back again. We pretty much spent the only full sea day within view of Fraser Island and surrounding areas

(The waters were very calm and we barley even noticed we were moving apart from the wind out on deck)

So I guess if you are looking for a party then the short cruises are for you. We had plenty of fun drinking and dancing in the 2 clubs, during the day we chilled by the pool and drank some more.. relaxed, watch a movie, had a few drinks, played in the casino, had a few drinks, went to pre dinner drinks, went to dinner, had a few drinks, went dancing, had a few drinks....It all becomes a little blurry after that..

Hey I think ive found a common theme!!!

It is worthy to note that on the 4 nighter from Syd to Auckland we only managed 3-4 hours sleep a night as we were having so much fun.

Cheers,

Dan

Yep great time...oh the memories...

17... I dont think you'll be getting alcohol from the bars... the sail card for under 18's was different to over 18's from memory

Age group wise you'll probably have lots of poeple as we met people of all ages from 17-18 to 30's.

Age really isnt a barrier on the cruise and everyone seems to damn friendly! Oh wait that could just have been the alcohol.....

Our Syd to Auckland was in August and the sun was great.. the wind not so much but the sun was great.

Cheers,

Dan

Ahhh at least you'll have some one to buy you the drinks, as long as you dont get smashed and roll around of the floor i dont think security will give you any trouble with being underage. I noticed on our last cruise there were "young" looking people in the nightclub and i dont recall anyone asking them to leave. so you should be fine on that score.

On the food score its a tough one, i guess you'll have to hear from someone who's departed at that time.. You can of course always buy a pizza on board.

I would contact P&O and ask them about dinner. I think it would be a rip off if you were expected to board around 4-5 and then they didn't supply you with any food for free.

We were going to go on the November 3 nighter but when we rang to book the discount fares had sold out and all we were offered was the stock standard price. So consequently we are just waiting till our January cruise.

After paying good money for a cruise, why would anyone want to spend the time pissed.   I cannot understand that at all. You can do that on land.

Well for me at least the best part about the cruise is not having to get home from a club or a night out. So in that respect its a lot easier then being on land. You can simlpy wander down to your cabin when you've had enough.

There's a big difference between enjoying yourself with drinks and getting pissed. In both of my cruises I wouldn't say i've ever caused any problems and certainly havent been any trouble for anyone on board.

Part of the experience is lazy days on deck, long dinners and partying till the sun comes up with new friends. With a 3 nighter there are no ports and so everyday is a sea day which means its party all night and relax during the day.

I certainly dont regret either of my past cruises and doubt I'll have any regrets about future ones.

Cheers,

Dan

We are going on the 3 nighter Pacific Sun cruise in Nov. We booked this back in Feb on the discounted fare. Originally we were booked for a 3 nighter cruise in May but this was cancelled.

Having not been on a cruise before I wanted to see what it was like and this was the perfect option instead of forking out heaps on a big holiday. 3 friends are coming along and we are sharing a cabin, so got the "mates rates" price which is $572 for 3 nights, wasn't too bad! We depart Sydney at 8pm but can board from 1pm. Lunch is NOT included, I rang P&O and said that the bars/pizza were will be open but there will be a charge.

Anyways, will let you know how we go!

Jules,

You will have a fantastic time!!

My advice is board as early as you can. The moment you step on the ship the holiday begins. Plus everything will be open, bars, pizza, ice cream etc.

Get on unpack and enjoy!

Departing Sydney after dark will be great too as the lights around the harbour will be on..

Have a great time

Dan
