Early AM PPT Arrival

Has anyone booked AirTahitiNui on their own using ATN Flight#101 departing LAX 1125P & arriving Papeete 550A next morning for a 1200noon Tahitian Princess Boarding? If so - after arrival how did you spend those 6 hours prior to boarding? A day room does not seem to fit considering the timeframe. Was there any arrangements for luggage other than keeping it with you during that time? Any input,ideas... will be greatly appreciated. Thanks - SeaFish

Seafish,

We have the same problem. We will be getting

in at 4:00am and the ship doesn't board until

noon.

We have contacted hotels for a day rate and they

just give you a night rate.

We checked out the airport to store the luggage

and they have some lockers that are for 2 hour

storage. That isn't enough time either.

We then decided to book Patrick's 4x4 tour for

the whole day and I'm hoping he will be able

to store our bags while we are on the excursion.

Otherwise, we will probably have to get a room

to store our bags.

I have asked this question before and never get

an answer. Hope somebody will reply, if they

have been in the same position.

packed-n-ready - thanks for the info. You will enjoy the 4x4 tour. We've been all over Tahiti Nui & Iti and IMO it's great once you get out of the Papeete area. I too hope we get some input on early arrival suggestions. Has anyone stored luggage at the Sheraton (or elsewhere) prior to embarkation? Will a Princess transfer handle the luggage airport-to-ship if not using their air? Any info appreciated? SeaFish

I got an answer from Patrick. He called the

airport for me and found out that you can leave

luggage any amount of time you need. They

are open from 5:00AM to 9:30PM. He said the

price changes daily.

The bad news for me was that he doesn't do his

tours on Sundays.

So, I guess we will just do our own thing and

leave the bags at the airport.

Seafish and Packed, Ia Orana,

Send an E-Mail to Ramona Taie at Marama Tours. They are the Largest Tour Provider in FP Tahiti, as well as for Princes ShorEx. I do not know my flight details yet; however, I received a prompt, courteous reply and I plan to book this transfer. I have heard that taxis double their fees during off hours. Marama seems to be the least expensive (about $15 USD pp. to go from Faa'a airport to my hotel in PPT (right near the cruise terminal). They may be able to ride you around for an island tour, along with your luggage. Ask about an Immediate Tour when you write them. Here is our communication:

Bonjour,

The latest you can book 01 month prior to arrival date

Regards, Ramona

Merci for your reply, Ramona,

How late can I reserve? I will be able to tell you my flight number and time around 5 July. Cannot confirm ATN flights until 2 months out. We may be on the red-eye, arriving 3 a.m., or so. Is that o.k.?

Thank you, Di
