Mega pier - when was it built?

We haven't been to Curacao since 2002, and at that time we docked near the floating bridge. We will be there again in the spring of this year, and we are wondering if the "mega pier" was built after 2002.

We remember seeing another ship docked in the distance on our previous visit, but we don't know if that was the mega pier. It didn't look like that dock was withing walking distance to the town, as people are saying the mega pier is. Thanks to anyone who can end our confusion. Since we may be at the mega pier this time, we are trying to get a fix on where we will be.

I am not sure when the MegaPier was built, but it has been awhile. That pier is on the south side of the Island in Otrabanda. In 2002, there was some construction of a hotel there, which is now complete, so getting around is prettier and easier. If you port on the Megapier, it is not far to walk to get over to the walking bridge, to get to Punda and shopping. Not far to get to taxis if you don't want to stay in the area. There are lot of beaches going west on the Island of Curacao. Mambo beach is to the East.

We were there in 2007 and again in 2008. Seems like there was a major construction on a new development going in right at the pier area in 2008 where there was not much there on the earlier trip.

The construction work is all complete now. It is now a beautiful hotel with casino, movie theatre, infinity lagoon and infinity pool. I am checking in to see if they are offering a day pass for cruisers. I was part of the team working on the Hotel. There are so many beaches
