Marco polo transocean tours christmas in the ice kingdom

Anyone else going on this 17 day cruise on Marco Polo departing Ushuia December 20 2009?

No, im not- but I did do the 11 day Christmas in the Ice Kingdom last year. It was a great trip.. but a few cautions.

First of all the ship will have very few English speaking passengers. 95% German. All announcements however are made in both languages. Our cabin stewardess couldn't speak English... Yes that's right... We had to get a translator... Also in the dining rooms 5 times out of 10 you wouldnt get what you ordered.. It was a disimal experience on the ship. However a few Indian crew members did make it worth while as well as the four filipinos onboard. But you cant have a bad cruise. Not inc the Antarctic.. The destination makes up for everything else.

thankyou for your reply but now it doesnt matter. just heard today Marco Polo sold again winter circuit cancelled to allow new owners to refurbish. I am in the process of transferring to a different ship/company.

Im now going to Antarctica, Falkland Islands and South Georgia on Le Diamant under a French company Compagnie Du Ponant leaving Ushuaia Dec 21st 2009 returning Jan 5th.
