$$ on shore?

My understanding is that there is the possibility of stopping at a couple of stations in Antarctica. If so, what currency did they use? Were dollars accepted? Or credit card? Would love to have thirts and send postcards!

On our 2007 trip, we stopped at Port Lockroy in the peninsula area where there was an opportunity to buy souvenirs. US $s accepted; as were credit cards (no debit cards). The station where we made our continental landing was not open at the time, so no experience with shopping there. Other places where we needed money on shore were in the Falklands and at Grytviken on South Georgia Island ... US $s and credit cards accepted there as well.
