MSC Metal Models

Hello guys!

I'm new to this forum, however I already found a LOT of useful informations that I'll carry for my next cruises.

The reason of my post is to ask you about those MSC Metal Models, such these ones:

and

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CfQA8JRtYlw/Shw9HgftOqI/AAAAAAAAAak/oe8Om44Ro3w/s400/056.JPG

I've been on board MSC Opera and MSC Orchestra and this model wasn't available for purchase in none of these ships. However, MSC gave them as a gift for one lucky guest in each voyage.

Also, I've already seen this model in a lot of travel agencies, which means that these models are not "exclusive".

Does anyone knows where I could find these models?? I've been trying Ebay every day, with no luck (just found the MSC Poesia model there, and is already sold). I'm looking for the Orchestra, Opera and Musica models.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Cheers!

I was able to buy one model of the Opera on ebay. But I have not seen many of the other ships. You might look on some of the international ebays, like ebay.co.uk or eday.de or ebay.it.

I see the Fantasia is available on ebay.it right now

Now for the Musica class, there are lovely resin models available from Scherbak models, either in a mostly white version (souvenir), or a fully painted version (collector) both 1:1250 scale, or a full hull 1:900 scale.

Hi Modelman,

Thanks for your reply. I'll keep looking everyday on ebay and its international sites.

Did you buy yours Opera's model a long time ago?? I think that it will be easier to find these models on Ebay once the vesses starts to call European ports again (they are now on the Brasilian season).

Also, thanks for the comments about the Scherbak models - I had seen this web-site, and even exchanged some e-mails with Alexader, but I can't affort the price for the 1:1250 scale, specially if I buy two or three models.

I would buy the "souvernir" model, but I didn't like it being almost fully white (i.e. no colors or details). Also, would be sad to buy this version aware that there's a better model available, if you understand what I mean.

Anyway, will keep looking for the metal model. Will reconsider the Scherbak model if I really fail to find them.
