Panama Canal - Sun Princess 4/18/05

My wife and I will be on the Sun Princess going through the Panama Canal for the first time, is there anything that we should not miss on this trip?

Any recommendations?

I affraid to say that you will miss a lot because one day is not enough time to see the highlight of Panama, e.g. if you take the ferry (nice trip) you will see the rest of the Canal, but you will miss the Train, Indian Village, Portobelo, Panama City, Rainforest and shopping in Colon Free zone.

Now, if you are looking for:

The Canal: the ferry or Panama City could be the tour that you can choice.

Beach and history: Portobelo, also Portobelo has rainforest too.

Rainforest: Soberania Park (watching birds), Gamboa, Portobelo and Indian village

History and Canal: Panama city tour

Culture: Indian village

Unique (exclusive of Panama): The canal ferry, the interoceanic train and the Embera Indian village.

have a wonderful trip! we will be on the Sun but not until Sept/05. It will be a full transit from San Francisco to Ft. Lauderdale. We might get on in Vancouver and sail down to SF.
