Baja Cruise questions

I'm leaving for 2 weeks on a Carnival (Ecstasy) Baja cruise (4 night).

We're on a shoe-string budget this time and bringing my 12 year-old daughter.

One stop is in Ensenada. Can we get to the blow-hole (La Bufadora) by bus/taxi for cheap? Are the sea-lions in the same general vicinity?

Other stop is Catalina Island. Any thoughts on _cheap_ activities?

Cheapest way to the blow-hole is take a taxi into town which will probably take you to a place to go on various tours. Then you can go for about 1'2 the price of the cruise line tour. That's what we did a couple of years ago.

In Catalina, you can just stroll the town if you like, it's a lovely place. Quite crowded with all the other ships' passengers, but still nice. We have rented a golf cart several times to tour a bit of the island, it is about $30 per hour plus a $30 refundable deposit.

We have never gotten off the ship in Ensenada, we love having the ship to ourselves.
