Room service

Howdy cruise enthusiasts!

Strongly considering a cruise on the CP. Never have cruised with Princess before. Can anyone tell me about room service? Do they have any hot food? Or better yet can anyone direct me to a room service menu?

Thanks!

They have a room service menu that includes plenty of hot food, but you can also order from the dinning room menus. After coming back from port, if we're too exausted to get cleaned up for dinner, we pick up a dinner menu and order room service off of that. In fact, on of our most memorable meals was haveing a great dinner on our balcony in our bath robes as we sailed out of port. No extra charge. Many tip the person that delivers the food a couple of bucks, but according to my friend that works at Princess, these people are included in the tip pool at the end of the cruise, so don't feel you MUST tip.

Awesome room service on Princess.

I was really impressed with the quality and promptness of room service on our Golden cruise last month.

Standard complementary offerings available 24 hours a day include

·Roast Beef
·Roast Turkey Breast
·Tuna Salad
·Vegetarian
·Club House
·Assorted Mixed Garden Greens
·Chef’s Salad and
·Caesar Salad with Chicken Strips
·Croque Monsieur – a grilled ham and cheese sandwich- just ok
·Grilled Hamburger or Cheeseburger- Whitney approved
·Ballpark Style Hot Dog
·Caramel Flan- I had at least two of these every day
·Chocolate Chip Cookie
·Chocolate Fudge Cake – brownies if you ask me
·Coffee, tea and milk

Also available is full bar service and a menu of selections designed for “if you wish to host a private party in your stateroom” and oh yes, it does indeed say to allow approximately 6 hours preparation time. These offerings carry a charge and include:

·Selection of Assorted Canapes ($10)- well done
·Selection of Deluxe Canapes ($14)
·Fresh Vegetable Platter with Cheese Dip ($6)
·Tray of Imported and Domestic Cheese with Crackers ($12)
·Chilled Shrimp on Ice ($14)-very nice
·Guacamole Dip with Tortilla Chips ($8)- dang good
·Chocolate Dipped Strawberries ($8)-excellent

Another offering by room service is the Champagne Breakfast for Two. Offered on Thursday morning, our last day at sea, and ordered by use of a door hanger before you go to bed it includes

·Moet and Chandon- chilled half bottle
·Warm Wasket of Homemade Pastries
·Delicate Cold Smoked Salmon
·Forrest Berries Presented In a Crowned Melon Basket
·Quiche Loraine

I think it sounds like a bargain for $25 (for two) but it didn’t sound even close to something Dad and Daughter would be doing on this cruise.

As with everything else, all charges are posted to your shipboard account.

Hope that helps

Happy Cruising

Chris
