Priceline for Galveston

Anyone ever placed a bid for Galveston using Priceline? The hotels there this summer are quite expensive. Just curious if anyone had used Priceline, what star rating they bid and what price they paid.

Rates are very date specific, so somebody elses winning bid may or may not be relevant to your own dates.

If you're driving to Galveston, I have also recently seen somebody bid the Texas City zone, they said about 11-12 miles from Galveston, where rates (both Priceline and 'traditional') were cheaper.

We are going with Best Western and will leave our vehicle in a parking lot.

We used the Howard Johnson's last time and were almost eaten alive by the mosquitos.They are on the channel.

Galveston is indeed a tough Priceline city!

I have recently seen somebody successfuly bid in Texas City and was accepted at a very good rate. Apparently Texas City is about 11-12 miles from Galveston.
