merela Posted July 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2004 Does anyone know whether carseats are required for taxis in Seattle? We are travelling with 2 children (5 and 2.5). Also, how much is the taxi fare from the Sea Tac airport to the port? We'll be going on the Diamond Princess end of August. Any information you have for us would be great. Ellya Posted July 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2004 According to this website: http://www.portseattle.org/seatac/ground/groundrates.shtml A taxi should be about $30. Shuttle express is $24 for 4 people. I don't know about carseats. In general carseats are required for children up to age 8 in Washington, but I don't know about "public" transportation. Krazy Kruizers Posted July 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2004 :) Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing car seats in taxi's. Probably because they do take up space in the back seat meaning that someone would have to sit in the front seat. And if you have a lot of luggage, some of it may have to go in the front of the taxi. :)
merela Posted July 27, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted July 27, 2004 Just wondering since Towncars are around $35+tip. Thanks. Jennifer
mommiemudd Posted August 3, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2004 There are four adults and one toddler for our cruise in August. We booked a limo through Townepointe Limosuine Service for $45 airport to hotel and then $55 from pier to airport, plus 20% tip. To us it was worth it because we know it will be there waiting for us and we can all go in one car. There will be a lot of luggage b/w the five of us! Car seats are not required in taxi/limo according to the car seat laws for Washington State: 4) This section does not apply to: (a) For hire vehicles, (b) vehicles designed to transport sixteen or less passengers, including the driver, operated by auto transportation companies, as defined in RCW 81.68.010, © vehicles providing customer shuttle service between parking, convention, and hotel facilities, and airport terminals, and (d) school buses
