Jane Pond Posted January 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2005 This will be my first QM cruise. With 2600 passengers, I need to meet some of the CC gang! Jane in PHL (used to Seabourn<g>)
Jane Pond Posted January 10, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted January 10, 2005 Thought I would bump this up and ask a question that I don't remember seeing. Does the QM2 have guest lecturers? Other enrichment programs? I have heard about the planetarium and the evening shows, but nothing else. Jane in PHL
imacruizer Posted January 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2005 Jane, there were guest lecturers on our QM2 cruise in March. I can remember three - a published author, a historian who spoke about the history of the Caribbean, and someone from the staff of the Canyon Ranch Spa in Arizona who gave fitness lecturers. There may be some I am forgetting. We enjoyed the lectures. You might get more replys to your question if you start a thread about lectures. Many people don't read threads for roll calls unless they are part of the group. We are returning to the QM2 in late January. Hope you have a great cruise in February. Jane Pond Posted January 10, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted January 10, 2005 I am really looking to see if anyone else will be onboard. It's 6 weeks away! However, I was wondering about the lectures. Thanks. Jane
imacruizer Posted January 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2005 I hope you will soon get some replys to your roll call. Having others to share the excitement makes preparing for the cruise more fun. Wish you were going with us in January!
Jane Pond Posted January 12, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted January 12, 2005 I think that no matter when one's embarkation is, it seems that each day is twice as long! I look forward to all the trip reports! Jane in PHL
imacruizer Posted January 13, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2005 Just discovered that you can find the lecturers for your cruise on the Cunard website. Look for "Oxford QM2 Discovery Programme" on the home page and then click on "Cunard Connexions".
Jane Pond Posted January 14, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted January 14, 2005 I just found the information and the author who is featured is one I have read!!!! Now, what are the chances of that, I ask you? He writes about SW Florida, mysteries with a rather weather-worn hero. I did order a few more that I have not read to bring with me. That will be fun. Thank you for guiding me to that site! Jane in PHL
Jane Pond Posted January 27, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted January 27, 2005 I am bumping this up again; can't believe there are no other CruiseCritic sailors joining me! Jane in PHL
