any good recommendations? Hotel San Giorgio has been recommended but it is a bit pricey. I am looking for a decent place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

The other two that come recommended on Tripadvisor are the Triano and the Bramante (sister hotels). We're going in a few weeks and staying at the Bramante - I'll let you know how it is. Just booked a low season rate for 90 euros at Bramante last night. Both have a free shuttle to the port.

Try the Hotel Miramare. Good location overlooking the sea. Clean, nice, and reasonable. Convenient walk from train station (5-8 minutes); easy (and level) walk to port entrance (10-15 minutes). Go to venere dot com.

Just stayed at the Traiano on October 9. Great hotel, helpful staff, but in a residential area quite a way from the downtown or train station. Our room was one of the biggest that we've seen in a European three-star hotel, and had a balcony. The Bramante is a four-star hotel close to the sea and has more restaurants nearby, but is also a considerable distance from the downtown area. Either hotel would work as a place to chill out after a sleepless longhaul to Italy, but probably not as a base for local touring.

Hotel San Giorgio - SunBay Park Hotel - Hotel Borgo del Mare Roses - Hotel De La Ville any others?

 

We are arriving via Train from Florence and be spending one night before we depart on our Cruise.

 

Looking for convenient location to Train and Port.

 

Any recent recommendations?
