Rental Car in Mobile

I am starting this thread just because I myself looked for info on this subject on here but never found it..

After calling the Port terminal they informed me that Hertz was the only rental company that was available at the terminal. So we rented a car from KY and dropped it off at Hertz who then gave us a ride to the terminal. It was just as easy renting again after getting off of the ship, we called Hertz and within miutes they were there at the loading zone.

Surprisingly, not very many people choose this option! I believe it was going to be $75 for parking if we were to have drove our own vehicle (an SUV). So not to mention sparing the miles that we would have put on our vehicle, I think it was a smooth option.

Thank you so much for posting this. We are sailing out of Mobile next May and I couldn't find info on this either. The Mobile Terminal website wasn't that helpful to me. Thanks for making the call on this.

So they drop you off & pick you up? Sounds great! We usually sail out of New Orleans and take the train back to MS, but there's no train to Mobile. We're renting the car.

I wasn't able to get much from the terminal website either. I called them directly and spoke with a few different people...finally I learned about Hertz. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IT'S THE HIGHWAY 90 LOCATION. Yes, they drop you off and when it's time for them to pick you up after disembarkation, you just call and within minutes they will be there to get you in the loading zone.

Mobile is my favorite port now...very easy and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I hope you enjoy your experience and cruise as much as we did there :D
