rothtdk1 Posted November 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2009 Hi, We are considering Thomson Pharaohs and The Promised Land cruise in March. We have changed our mind a hundred times between Costa and MSC. We don't really care about shows, bars or games as much as just relaxing, value, cleanliness, and great food. I was wondering if anyone would like to tell us if they like the Spirit and how this itenerary was; such as fun or not. I noticed 2 days in Israel and Egypt, does that mean you can stay on land if you wish or must you come back to the ship? Any help is much appreciated as we have not been on a cruise in 15 years and it was the Big Red Boat to the Bahama's. Thank you
dopeyngrumpy Posted November 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Hi We have cruised with Thomsons a couple of times and was put off MSC and Costa as they announce everything in 5 languages and english is the last. The shows etc are not in English where Thomsons are. And Thomson shows are great. Depends what you want - Costa and MSC are much bigger ships with many more amenities and lots more restaurants to choose from, however our exerience on Thomsons is excellent, they give you a 5 star service on a small ship and really look after you. We recently went on NCL and would recommend these over any other ship - we were treated like royalty but our bill at the end of the week was much higher that it would have been on thomsons. The most cost effective excursions have been with Thomsons. We've booked both Thomson in June and NCL in Feb as they are 2 completely different experiences. But still can't convince ourselves to do MSC or Costa Hope some of this helps
