Needzavacation Posted January 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2010 It's probably a good idea. You make the reservations at the podium at the Entrance to Izumi, which is located right next to Windjammer. We waited to make reservations in the afternoon on embarkation day, and the pick of openings was pretty slim.
Robin8 Posted January 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Or you can call the reservation center by dialing 7000 from any phone onboard. I went to Izumi last week & was disappointed. The sushi was not very good... the fish was not fresh & the rice was not sticky. The miso soup was salty & different from the usual ones. They don't have hot sake, just cold ones. The service was good, just not the sushi. We didn't try other items in the menu.
MTSHQMP Posted January 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2010 If they are booked just ask for them to make it so you can just go over to the windjammer and eat. My wife did that, because I don 't eat sushi, at first they were against it but eventually they "chef" said he would. We had a lot of people looking at us in the windjammer trying to figure out where it was on the buffet, it it was kind funny.
Aqua Bliss Posted January 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I just returned from the 1/9 sailing and Izumi had openings every night. Don't know if this will be the norm but I checked the TV every night (green) and went there twice and it was pretty dead.
