St Croix Beaches

Welcome in advance to St. Croix! Just north of the pier where you will be docked are several beaches. You can make arrangements with a cab to go to either Changes In L'Attidues, Rainbow Beach or Spratt Hall/Sunset Grill Beach and for them to pick you up. These beaches have a beach bar located so that you will have restaurant/restroom facilities. They are not big beaches but you can snorkle, swim or just relax.

If you want to see more of the island, have a cab take you to Cane Bay Beach on the north shore. There is also a beach bar located here and is a nice beach for snorkeling and swimming. However, the surf can be a bit rough at times. This is the location of our world famous "Wall" where many scuba divers come to visit. If you want to do some shopping as well as some beach time, come to Christiansted for shopping and there is a short four minute ferry ride over to Protestant Cay/Hotel on the Cay to swim. I hope you enjoy your visit!

Thanks lljost. We are on the same ship. Problem is that the Opera is only scheduled from 7AM to 2PM. So it does make it kind of difficult to make it to Christiansted and back. (Although I have read that Christiansted has a really nice Fort and Historic District.)

What kind of cab Fares are we looking at if we want to go From Fredericksted to Christiansted and back?

Unfortutunately, cabs are not that cheap on St. Croix. The listed price for Fredericksted to Christiansted is $20 (for two people). However, if you have a group that wants to go, ask the driver to give you one price for the group and then split the cost. It is worth visiting town though. Nice walking tours of town including the fort and boardwalk. Also nice shops to browse through, touristy as well as boutiques. However, allow time to also walk around the fort in Frederiksted. They are remodeling the waterfront in Fredericksted so at first glance it looks a bit messy but understand that it is a work in progress and will be beautiful once completed. Enjoy your cruise and your visit to St. Croix.
