The ship has transfers you can sign up for, I believe now, but for sure while onboard. It was avail Jan 09 at least.

 

Most flights back to the US are late in the evening, so you have all day. There are ship tours, but we signed up for a private tour and it was greaat. Spent the day in Valparaiso, visited a Winery and then got to the airport.

 

One warning. The Delta ticketing didn't open up until I think about 7pm and the line was 2hrs long for a flight at 11pm. So you either stand in line for hrs waiting for them to open and then get through OK and wait for hrs at the gate, or relax and not stand in line until it opens, then stand in line for 2hrs and get through at 9pm.

 

We did our tour, got there about 6pm - relaxed, playing cards and so on until the counter opened then we got in line and got through by 9pm. Lots of people stood in the line for an extended time and were ahead of us but don't know if it was worth it - stand a long time in line before it opens or wait and stand in line a long time.

 

But seriously think about a tour.
