Canada Place transportation question

We will be arriving in Vancouver on May 14 around 7:00am according to our cruise itinerary. I booked a 4 night post cruise stay at the Blue Horizon and our plan was to catch a taxi from the pier to the hotel. I checked the Vancouver Port website and cruise websites and on that day there will be 3 ships arriving at Canada Place around the same time. We will be on the Golden Princess. The other ship that ends their cruise in Vancouver will be the Celebrity Millenium. The MS Rottendam will stop in Vancouver for the day before heading on to Seattle. Will there be enough taxis to handle all the passengers?

Generally speaking, the answer is yes, but as in any port there may be a bit of a wait. Once, after docking in New York we had to wait for 3 hrs and that was to catch a gypsy cab. You could also arrange in advance for private transportation, depending on your budget. From the pier to the Blue Horizon is normally about a 10 min ride, depending on traffic.:)

Vancouver is a city of 2.5 million people, 6000 cruise passengers really doesn't make that much difference, as there's probably 100,000 tourists in town at any given time in the summer.

having just spent some time in cabs this past weekend in Vancouver I had a chance to ask a few cabbies their thoughts on the Cruise pick up business. They agreed with no Ballantyne Pier this summer that there would likely be more cabs available.

Several mentioned something that I had never thought much about and that was the fact that most rides seem to go to fairly nearby hotels and they only take in $10 bucks or so. If everyone was going to the airport they would be more likely to want to get into the lineup themselves.

Maybe the best bet would be to set up a ride before you dock with a firm ??
