Please help...looking at Deck 7 balcony the Serenade

Recommended Posts

I am considering an E3 balcony for an Alaska cruise - Deck 7. Someone mentioned something about the top of the lifeboats...is this a major obstruction? Since we are trying to book another cabin on the same deck, just to move up to deck 8 would cost quite a bit more since we would have to upgrade both cabins.

We were on deck 8 of the Brilliance - it just cost $20 per person to move up. We did talk to someone on deck 7. They said the lifeboat covers weren't in the way of looking out to sea. As they stick out about 10+ feet from the balcony, they do prevent seeing the water. We liked deck 8 because there was a bit of an overhang from deck 9, and that meant we could be in the shade a bit more. Nancy

lmmm, I would suggest cat. E-1 on deck 7 or 8.

The lifeboat overhang does not let you look straight down to the water, straight out is ok, but not down. The few extra dollars would be worth it for the E-1.
