cruisingallover Posted May 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2010 FYI Tender port Cannes. Can we see Nice and Eze in one day? Still torn on what to do as we want to see both. How would we get to Eze from Nice? Where do we catch the bus? how long does it take and are the buses reliable as we need to get back to the ship on time? moyaroo Posted May 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2010 You get the Eze bus in Nice or you can take the train from Cannes to Eze bord de mer and get bus or taxi up to Eze proper.
Susan-M Posted May 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2010 FYI Tender port Cannes. Can we see Nice and Eze in one day? Still torn on what to do as we want to see both. How long will you be in the port of Cannes for? How would we get to Eze from Nice? Bus #82 or #112. Schedules: http://www.lignedazur.com/horaires_ligne/?rub_code=6&lign_id=1063&part_id=%PARTNER%&thm_id=0 To see the schedule for #112, enter that number under 'Timetables' on the right side, beside "Line". To see other times of the day, reverse directions, and schedules for the date you'll be there, see the section just above the timetable. Where do we catch the bus? You can catch it at Gare Routiere. Click on the box that looks like a snowflake, and a map will pop up. The stop in Eze is called Eze Village. how long does it take and are the buses reliable as we need to get back to the ship on time? 20 minutes from Nice to Eze Village. They were on schedule for us, and I haven't read of any complaints from others here about them being unreliable, however, they don't run all that frequently, so what I did was planned an itinerary for the day around the bus schedules & it worked out very well. Suggest taking a copy of the bus schedules with you. Good luck with your day in Cannes!
Susan-M Posted May 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Some more info: Frommer's Destinations is good place to find guidebook material on line. This page describes the location of the train and bus stations in Nice. http://www.frommers.com/destinations/nice/0059010002.html This map shows the location of the train station (Gare Nice Ville). The bus station (Gare Routiere) is in the vicinity of #8: http://www.frommers.com/images/destinations/maps/jpg-2006/59_niceattractions.jpg
numbersix Posted May 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2010 How about renting a car? We almost always do in the south of France, as I really enjoy driving there--good roads, good, clear signage. Haven't done Nice and Eze from Cannes, but have from Monte Carlo-we had a great day. Kevin

ActiveTraveler Posted May 31, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 31, 2010 My first thought when I read the subject title was "nice and easy." :) I now the pronunciation is different, but if Nice is a nice city, it lives up to its name.
AnnieB925 Posted June 7, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 7, 2010 We don't usually book the ship's excursions but on this one we did. We saw Nice, Eze and Monaco/Monte Carlo. I'd highly recommend this excursion. It was easy and very nice!
