luggage storage at cruise ship terminal

Wouldn't it make sense for the cruise companies to have a room at their terminals with coin-operated lockers for passengers to store their luggage for a few hours? I don't know of any that have this, but it would be really great if you have a few hours before your flight and want to go to the beach, shopping, etc. for a bit. It could be as you leave the terminal after you've passed security so that you don't have to stand in line for security when returning for your luggage.
