Jules Travels Posted October 12, 2010 #27 Share Posted October 12, 2010 My first two cruises were on the Paradise and both times I had a 1A porthole cabin near the bow on the empress level. The 1st cruise was very smooth, no problems. The 2nd cruise hit 15 ft waves rounding Cuba on its way to Cayman, and I got rocked to sleep that night. I usually have good sealegs and balance, but I took a dramamine and settled in for some rockabye. That same night at dinner, the motion was significant in the stern, and many people didn't show up in the MDR. That was the worst in 15 cruises. So when it's rocking, sometimes it doesn't matter bow or stern, high or low deck, gotta go with the flow because you can't fight it and it will pass. If you are terribly worried, get the ear patch. I am booked in E8 on the paradise. On the ship deck plan this room looks larger (longer) than the others. Did you notice any difference in the size of the room? Thank you!
