Info On Port of Galveston

We have cruised MANY times but never out of Galveston and are considering a future one from there. Would like to know which is the best Houston airport to fly into and once in Houston, what is the distance to the port (or time it takes to get there) and cost for a shuttle or taxi from the airport to the port.

Fly into Hobby. It's a little over an hour from the port. I don't know what the cost is because I live there! Excellent place to live!

You can fly into IAH (Houston Bush Intercontinental) or HOU (Houston Hobby). Hobby is closer but is still about 45 miles from Galveston.

 

It also depends on your local airline choices. Southwest will go into Hobby, just about everyone else will go into IAH (with a few exceptions). Use a car service, not a taxi. Trust me the few extra dollars are worth it.
