Why Knot Me Posted November 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Does anyone know the best way to contact NCL to ask if there will be a Catholic mass on a specific sailing? The land based NCL will not know. It is dependent ship by ship and whether someone comes forward to conduct a service. It use to be more common than of late. Our Easter week cruise a few years ago, someone conducted a non-denominational service.
NMLady Posted November 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Unless a Catholic priest books as a passenger and offers to say Mass, there will be no Mass during a cruise. There might not even be a non-denominational service on a Sunday if no passengers offers. We were aboard NCL Sun for 4 Sundays from 9/20 to 10/23 on b2b2b cruises. The first two Sundays we were fortunate that a passenger who was a minister conducted a non-denominational worship service for passengers who wished to attend. There were about 60 of us in attendance. The third Sunday that minister was no longer on board but a Salvation Army officer conducted a non-denominational prayer service. The 4th Sunday he was no longer aboard but there was prayerful sharing for those who wished, organized by one of the passengers. So, it will depend on who is aboard and what they are willing to do. So far as I know, Holland America is the only cruise line that makes sure there is a priest aboard on each of the sailings.
