fuzzywuzzy Posted February 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2005 Just wondering if anyone has gone on a tour of St. John and stopped at any of the old plantation ruins such as the Catherineberg ruins? How long does it take to travel there? Any information about this or the other ruins farther north? thanks. We are thinking to hire a taxi driver to take us on a quick tour and to stop at these ruins. Thanks for any tips or advice.
The Islander Posted February 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2005 Hello, Cinnamon Bay Plantation ruins, just accross from the beach entrance, and Annaberg Planatation ruins are the popular stops for island tours... actually Annaberg being more popular in terms of taxi tours. Catherinberg is accessiable, so if you took a private tour and explained you had spots you wanted to stop at - it is possiable to do. There is a great book called St. John Off the Beaten Path, http://www.vitraders.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=V&Product_Code=21-54&Category_Code=gub --Islander *****

fuzzywuzzy Posted March 15, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted March 15, 2005 We did go to Annaberg ruins. It was awesome. The taxi driver took us there and provided a guided tour. He was very knowledgable and then he drove us back to Cruz Bay. We were gone 1 1/2 hours and it cost us $60.00. Too much. There were 4 of us though.
