As a smoker, I am not avoiding celebrity because of the smoking policy. We are excited about our up-coming solstice cruise. To us the limited smoking is just a part of everyday life in the tri-state area. the casino could be a tough one though

For those who knew JeffCoud from cruises, from his posts on Cruise Critic (including his last post which was made to this topic, above) or before Cruise Critic on a Google group, Jeffrey Lee Coudriet, a long-time smoker, died after a year-long battle with lung cancer at the age of 48 on February 5, 2011.

I searched all through Cruise Critic and did not see his death mentioned anywhere, but am sure some who knew him either personally or here on Cruise Critic, but did not know of his death, would want to know.

Replying to the last thread in which he posted seemed to be the best place, as he cruised on several lines.

His wonderful gallery of photos of cruises on Celebrity, Holland America and Carnival is here...

I am sure he would be happy to share it, especially with new cruisers.

I used to always read JeffCoud's posts which were very helpful and when my dog was sick and went under Cancer treatment I stopped cruising and continued vacations close to home to Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean for 1 week or less. She (my dog Frances) passed away Nov, 2011 and I continued with the small trips and just booked my first cruise in 7 years for 2016 and again returned back on cruise critic and didn't see any post from JeffCoud so I did a search and noticed they stopped around 2011.

I couldn't remember his real name and after searching my emails I found it and did a search and found the obituary of him. Of course I was sad. Even though I had never met him, his post meant a lot to me and probably others looking for ideas, etc on cruising.

Rest in Peace Jeff! You are still missed!
