How to do XCARET on your own from Calica?

I am wondering if it is as easy as it seems to do XCARET on your own. Has anyone done it on their own? Are there taxis waiting when we leave the ship? Is the price better on your own? Any tips or anything to be aware of? Should we get tickets online in advance?

You would need to walk all the way out to the highway and flag down a shared taxi...I would recommend just to take a taxi to go there, it is very close (5 minutes).
