what to pack?

Can you give ideas on what to pack for the cruise for us and the kids... things that are a must not to forget....

This is not sarcasm, but you know your family much better than we do. :) What items do you use at home, and when you go on outings? You'll find you'll probably need the same on a cruise, and there's really no need to bring 75 things on a list that you'll never use. :D

If you google - packing lists for cruising - you will come up with some good lists to pick from.

Remember Carnival has on board Laundromats so you can get away with not over packing, especially if you have to fly.

For us, it's at least 2 swimsuits per person so you don't have to put on a wet suit. (mine have always dried nicely in the bathroom in one day).

I keep the dressy clothes at a minimum, you only have the two formal nights, you can get formal clothes that each go with the same pair of dress shoes.

Flip flops for all is a must for being at the pool. plenty of tank tops, and shorts for the kids ( my grand kids got a lot of ice cream on themselves during the day). Ibuprofen, travel wipes, (come in handy for so many things, even cooling off when it is hot), sunscreen, sun glasses, hats, chapstick, a backpack, and two pair of whatever comfortable walking shoes you prefer. All the walking you do during the week, your feet will like the change up of walking shoes. I usually have a pair of really good comfortable sandals like river sandals, and a pair of good tennis shoes. Bugspray if you are doing excursions in heavily forested or jungle like terrain. (That saved us in Belize)!

thanks so much....it has been a while since our family has done a vacation much less taking the cruise - lol. I knew the basics, but I just wanted to make sure that I cover everything without OVER- packing too... lol....
