Perthie Posted April 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2004 It will be our first visit to Miami and will be arriving at Miami Intl. We have three days prior to our cruise on Caribbean Princess. We are seeking advice on hotels that may provide a shuttle from the airport to hotel and hotel to port. Also any ideas of area to stay would be appreciated. We would like to be in an area that provides shopping, restaurants, sights etc. Thanks Nile - Oberoi Alaska - Vision of the Seas Europe - Brilliance of the seas Europe - Star Princess 2004 Eastern Caribbean - Caribbean Princess 2004
BurBunny Posted April 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Other than the Miami airport hotels (which I do NOT recommend for extended stays), I don't think you'll find a desirable hotel which offers shuttle, especially from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to your ship. Are you wanting to stay in Miami or Fort Lauderdale? Have you considered a rental car so you have more mobility for your stay? Amber Cruise Resource BiddingFun and BiddingHELP
Perthie Posted April 30, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Thanks Amber. We are not sure of the area that would most suit us. The water taxi sounds interesting though. I don't want the hassel of a hire car. I find the time wasted trying to find your way around (my wife is not a great navigator) and park etc you are better off with taxis or public transport. Also it will be after driving in Europe for three weeks. Enough is enough of people driving on the wrong side of the road. gayla59 Posted May 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2004 We like the Hotel Inter-Continental. You can walk to Bayside for shopping and some entertainment in the evenings and there is public transportation within walking distance. candace39000 Posted May 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2004 why not take the tri rail to fort lauderdale.i took it from ft. lauderdale to miami on our last cruise. 4 bucks a person and it runs from the miami airport to the ft. lauderdale airport. the only problem I see is only 2 bags of luggage per person and must be able to carry them on in one trip
