The cabs take cash. I've been to OSJ 3 times, and from what I gather, car service can be pricey compared to taking a taxi.

Some of the cabs take credit cards, but charge an additional fee. I don't remember how much, but it was enough to make me cough up the cash ($5 to $8, maybe?).

 

It's only $19-23 (depending on how many bags you have) for a cab between the airport and the cruise piers. I think it's simpler, cheaper, and less hassle to just grab a cab and pay cash, rather than trying to coordinate times and meet up with a specific private driver, or pay more to use a credit card.
