Whale watching or tubing

Having a difficult time deciding what to do here. We will be there in April and do not know if that is even whale season. Does anyone know? How strenous is the white water tubing excursion? Need some advice.

We did the whale watching excursion offered through RCL last week. We sailed 9 miles offshore and the lookouts were quite daring as they stood on the outside of the boat with their binoculars. It was very rough that day and a few passengers got seasick. Unfortunately, no whales. I didn't even have any hope we'd see dolphins, but luck was in our favor as we turned south an saw a bunch of seabirds near the water. That means there are fish near the surface and quite likely dolphins. Sure enough, there were maybe 50 dolphins of three different types, including the ones that jump up and spin around for the fun of it. Very exciting and we followed them for quite a while.

On the return trip, we were offered sandwiches. Rum punch and other beverages were available the whole time onboard. FWIW, other passengers told us they saw several whales off Dominica the day before.
