Taking Food Ashore??

I've seen some posts that certain ports won't let you take food off the ship. Does anyone know how to find out if they'll let you take food off the ship in Roatan? Or whether they'll check your bags or not?

We're just going snorkeling on our own in Roatan and were wanting to bring something for lunch to save a little money. I also have a pretty sensitive stomach so having some food I'm really comfortable with would be great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We did take oranges and bananas and bottled water off the ship in each port we visited. We also made sure we had a good breakfast beforehad and then ate something small when we boarded back on the ship to hold us over until dinner which was usually around 7:30 p.m.

On NCL they only check your bags on the way back onto the ship, not heading off the ship.
