getting there from riviera maya

Can someone tell me if it is possible to get from the rivieria maya to costa maya? We have friends staying in riviera and want to see us - is it possible to drive there?

You may know the Riviera Maya is an area streching from below Cancun southward about 70 miles, not a community.When I was in Costa Maya the cab driver told me Cancun was drivable via the main hwy 307.It was 387KM which is about 225 miles.Hope this helps. Billy
