All things Freeport, Bahamas!

Hey yall. I figured we could make a thread about all the good and all the not so good things in Freeport! I cruised there last year and we were only there 8-5. This summer however (2 weeks to be exact) I will be there staying from the discovery cruise line thing that takes you over there. I will be there Thursday-Sunday!!! We are staying at the Wyndham Viva Fortuna. If there is ANY and I mean ANYTHING you can give me advice on let me know. Our hotel is all inclusive so thats a plus but we have heard its 30 bucks to get into town. We will want to go to the casino and I want to experience nightlife. We are currently planning our adventure in Freeport for August.

I have heard a lot of good things about Junkanoo Beach and My Lucaya (possibly called Port Lucaya?)

 

Sounds like the cost is $5 per person for a taxi to get to the resort and shopping area. And then if you havn't booked things to do you can walk up to different vendors/carts to parasail, rentals etc. http://www.oceanmotionbahamas.com/

We spent a week at the Radisson Our Lucaya last year. That is where the casino is. It is small but nice enough. The Fish Fry at Smith Point is excellent. Absolutely the freshest fish, deep fried right in front of you. Drinks were $3 with music and lots of nice people. There is supposed to be live entertainment nightly at the straw market, but it was being refurbished when we were there.
