gacruiser5 Posted June 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Thinking of cruising in December to Bahamas with Carnival. Been there several times so was wondering if pools/waterslides stay open while in port and if there are other things happening on boat while it is in port? GORDONCHICK Posted June 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2011 The pools have been open, but I can't remember on the water slides.
jerry2457 Posted June 7, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2011 The pool may be open for swimming once you get on board. The water slides generally do not open until sometime after sailing and since most times they don't leave port until 4, it is not uncommon for the slides to not be open until the next day. Also, if you get very windy conditions, they will close off the water slides and/or some of the upper outside walking decks if they determine its not safe. Dayenu Posted June 7, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2011 While a ship is in port, casino and shops are closed, less restaurants will be opened, or limited hours, and less activities. Other than that, life as normal. Some people don't get off the ship at all, some leave it late or come back early. Often there is a movie during the day. gacruiser5 Posted June 7, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted June 7, 2011 We probably would not get off the ship in Nassau so I was hoping the pools and water slides would be open for the kids. Thanks.
Bonnie J. Posted June 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2011 Pools and hot tubs are open but not enough passengers are on board to have the slide open. But, you'll be able toi get a chaise right next to the pool!
