Any suggestions for Hotels or Resorts to stay at in Belize

CC members have always helped out in the past .... hopefully it will be the case again. We have cruised to Belize but never stayed there.

 

Some friends and I were looking at taking a few days and traveling to Belize. We're planning on being there for 5 days / 4 nights on the coastal side.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay?

Have been, via a cruise, to Caye Caulker & Ambergris Caye. Easy to get to via short 15 min flight or water taxi from Belize. These are small islands that are a lot safer than staying in Belize City etc. Google caye caulker or Ambergris Caye for ideas of their resorts.

Thanks for the advice. I actually work in Guatemala and safety is a very big issue. We will be driving from Guatemala to Belize. I want to stay on the ocean so an island will be perfect.
