Can wine from package be taken to cabin?

Recommended Posts

We have ordered wine from our wine package through room service and they delivered it to our cabin.

I have seen people walk out of the Dining Room with a bottle of wine and I have seen people walk into various bars with a bottle of wine.

I don't know if there are rules regarding the wine package or wine purchased on board but these examples are what we have done or witnessed on board.

The wine from the package is generally available from the MDR, WJ and the specialty restaurants. I have read on this board that on some ships you have been able to buy the wines from the package in some of the bars. I have not tried to use the package at the bars, I understand that the bars don't always have the wines from the package available. As far as bringing leftover wine (strange concept;)) no problem at all, you can even ask for an unopened bottle to take from the dinning room... you'll just need an opener or chase down the cabin steward. If you don't mind carrying them, the MDR will give you a couple of wine glasses to go as well.

If for some odd reason you have unopened bottles still left on your package at the end of the cruise, then I am assuming you can disembark with them? Do you have to order them from room service the night before or how would that work?

Sure can. I would just get them in the MDR, the last night, or room service if that is your preference.

We always bring some of our wine from the dining room to the cabin - both opened and unopened bottles. (The waiter also gives us a corkscrew if we need it and wine glasses for the cabin.) If there are any unopened bottles left on the last night, we bring them back to pack.
