BeardedGuy Posted September 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2011 After reading some of the descriptions of freighter travel on container ships, and an explanation of the difference between them and break bulk freighters, I started searching for information on the latter. Thus far, I have been unable to locate any information about them, and was wondering if: 1. there are still any out there that carry passengers 2. there is a website I might consult for information Thanks for your help. captainmcd Posted September 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2011 Beardedguy, Yes, there are still freighters other than container ships that carry passengers, but not many. Try these places: http://www.freighterworld.com http://www.travltips.com Most breakbulk ships today carry things that don't lend themselves to containerization, such as large machinery, project cargo, structural steel, and heavy-lift cargo.
