lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #51 Share Posted December 8, 2011 As if I needed it, I can't resist an vanilla ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles. Then it's off to explore the ship some more. The Gatsby Casino, the Speakeasy Cigar Lounge, the shops, the aft pool and then we head to Sabatini's to make reservations for dinner tomorrow night, we get 6:00p.m. and across the hall is Adagio's Bar. lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #52 Share Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) We decide to call it a night and head back to our cabin. That concludes Sun. Nov. 13th, 2011. I woke up about 6:15a.m. on Mon. Nov. 14th, 2011, and today we are going to be at Princess Cays. My uncle gets up a little after me and we start getting ready for the day. I want to have breakfast in the dinning room so we head on down. I have a croissant, fresh papaya, Maine blueberry pancakes, link sausage and hash browns, all very yummy. lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #53 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We head back up to cabin to get ready for Princess Cays. After hearing the all clear we head down to the dinning room to get our tender ticket. We enter the Michelangelo and are handed tender ticket 5, we walk in and start to look for a place to sit and wait when someone says ticket #5 follow me to the tender. So we head that way and we are on the tender and heading to Princess Cay. We find a nice shady spot as home base near a bar and some musician's, which are really good and add to the awesome ambiance of the area. Terry heads to the gift shops and gift stands and I head for the ocean and the swimming area. After pruning myself in the ocean and feeling a little rumbling in my tummy I head back to our spot and wait for Terry so we can go to lunch. lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #54 Share Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Terry gets back and we head off to get something to eat for lunch at the picnic buffet. Here the fruit really disappointed me, it looked so good, but the taste was just not there. As far as the other food it was hit and miss. The hamburger was okay, the chicken leg was good, the ribs were so tough you really couldn't even eat them, the potato salad was horrible, the corn salad was good, the cucumber salad was really good, the brownie was okay I've had better and I've had worse and the banana bread is pretty good. The ice tea all week long was so strong I never got it again after today, but Terry kept ordering one at dinner each evening and it was so dark it looked like soda. We had some bird friends show up an start begging for some scraps. Edited December 8, 2011 by lovelearnteach

lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #62 Share Posted December 8, 2011 I do love to tag along on a cruise by reading reviews here. Hurry up, Ken, we're waiting with baited breath! Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? :p We all appreciate you taking the time after getting home to do a review... as much as I love reading them, I did not write one after our Hawaii cruise in Feb. (Lazy thing that I am.) So we understand the delays, and will just keep checking back! But, more please, now. :D :D thank-you.

lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #66 Share Posted December 8, 2011 After lunch we decide to explore Princess Cays a little more. Last year we went off Princess property and shopped in the little area the locals have set up. There was a little snack shop there that had the most awesome conch salad, unfortunately we didn't make it there this year. We climbed the observation deck, great views from up there. We checked out the cottages that are for rent, not worth the money in my opinion. We checked out the snorkeling area, it looked very tempting even though we are not big on snorkeling. I went for another dip in the ocean and then we headed back to the ship for a little nap. Having fun in the sand, sun and surf is tough work and wears you out :p:D. lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #67 Share Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) After a little nap we check out the Patter and decide to head to a trivia game in the Explorer's Lounge. Terry and I are on our own team, which means I'm pretty much by myself. I get 8 out of 20 questions all on my own, I'm pretty darn proud of myself ;), as 3 out of the 8 were total guesses. I then want to head up to the Hearts and Minds for a free champagne tasting, but no one shows up. One of the other passengers who also came tracks down a crew member and they get on the phone trying to figure it out. By 5:25p.m. there is still no definite answer and we need to leave to get ready for our dinner at Sab's. lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #69 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Okay here is where I have to apologize for getting a crappy camera I really only have 1 pic that it is not whited out of our food. We got a table for 2 by the window, which was very nice. With the bread they also give you some olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in. For my antipasto I get the twice baked artichoke souffle in a cheese sauce, it is phenomenal! Terry gets a Cesar Salad, and says it is good. For the pasta course there are 2 choices; spaghetti noodles in a red sauce, or spaghetti noodles in a red sauce with a seafood medley. Terry gets the plain and I get the seafood, and mine was so good the 1 pic that have shows all the seafood. For his main course Terry gets the steak with an olive oil rub and I get the lobster 3-way. I tried a piece of Terry's steak and it was so good I wished I had ordered one to. My lobster was good, but I thought the steak was better. I can't remember what we had for dessert, if I could see the pix I would be able to tell you :o:D.

WVBill Posted December 8, 2011 #72 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Really appreciate your review, Ken. Your table at Sabatini's is the one my wife and I hope to get next March for our 25th Anniversary dinner aboard Ruby. We'll be on the same itinerary as you. Did you get a good view of the sunset during your dinner? I've checked and the sun will be setting about 6:45 ship time next March.
lovelearnteach Posted December 8, 2011 Author #73 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We both really enjoyed our meal at Sab's and felt it was well worth the extra cost. I've read some reviews complaining about the new menu change at Sab's, but this was my 1st time eating at one. I don't see how we could have possibly eaten any more than we did, I was so full by the end of the meal I can't even remember the dessert I had :D. The service was excellent we were treated like Kings and ate like ones too :D! I will be eating at a Sab's again no question about it. By the time all is said and done it's 8:15p.m. and Terry wants to browse the shops and I head off to MUTS to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. After the movie, which was a little disappointing, I head back to the cabin and Terry is there already in bed. I get in bed myself and watch a little tv and fall asleep. That is the end of Mon, Nov. 14th, 2011.

Thank-you so much, yes we did have a view of the sunset! It's one of the best tables in the place I believe, I don't know how we lucked out and got it. Maybe because we were eating so early, there were only a few others at 6 and by the time we left at 8 it was getting pretty full.

Thank-you, and thank-you for the tip I will definitely try that on our next cruise. You would think they would water the tea down so bad to make it spread father, but it's just the opposite. We are planning on the Caribbean Princess next Nov. 10, 2012 to the Southern Caribbean, it would complete our ABC island collection as we have yet to go to Curacao.
