Destiny May 2012

Hello everyone:

 

I just wanted to ask few questions about the cruise vacation that my wife and I are planning to take in May 2012. We are currently looking (very close to booking) on Carnival Destiny for 5 days. The port of call is Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. This is our first cruise and we are a bit cautious. We have heard many good things and bad things about Carnival. We feel that the cruise is what we make of it and we are a young couple who can find fun anywhere.

 

Here is our worry: the port of calls especially Ocho Rios (Is it safe? What can we do for cheap? and Which companies are reputable?) Same goes for Grand Cayman.

 

Another worry Cabin: I want the Balcony Cabin on Starboard side and on Spa Deck. Is that a good choice?

 

Another worry: Is the ship too old? Many posts and review state that the cabin are in horrible condition; is that true?

 

Lastly: Any ideas or advice will be greatly appreciated. I want to thank you all in advance for even looking at this post.
