Upgrading at Pier - how to find out if rooms are available?

Recommended Posts

Hubby and I (and daughter) are booked on Rhapsody for 7-day Alaska sailing in an outside view room. We debated at the time of booking if we should do a balcony but decided not too, and now the price differential is WAY too much to consider ($1000+).

According to the website, they are still selling rooms (suites, balconies, outside view) so it's not sold out yet.

Do I just keep tabs on the available rooms to determine if I should find the Pier Coordinator to ask for an upgrade (we board in Vancouver)?

Is the upgrade at pier process similar to that outlined before (check-in, get the Sea Pass, then find the Pier Coorindator)?

Thanks so much!
