jdc Posted May 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2005 We are doing a Mariner Alaskan cruise (Vancouver to Whittier) as a "family vacation". There will be six of us including mom who is 79.....I'm in charge of putting things together for everyone. While we can see what the excursions are, I don't have a good idea as to cost. Does anyone know a source for this or can any of you help with giving me an idea of pricing for some of the more popular excursions? Also, in Ketchikan we were thinking about doing a floatplane tour....does it make sense financially or practically to go independent? If yes, any recommendations? As usual, thanks for the feedback.... jeff
gf Posted May 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2005 Check the May 20 or the next few on the RSSC site; they will have the prices posted as you can book online 60 days before your cruise. Based on multiple recommendations, we have booked Island Wings for independent flightseeing in Ketchikan; if interested, contact now. Go to Alaska Ports of Call on CC; a wealth of info. When is your cruise?
Daw6id Posted May 2, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2005 The Tracy Arm cruise was about $150 - which seems like a lot of money for six people, but it was the highlight of our cruise, and would be absolutely no problem for a 79 year old. In addition to close contact with the glaciers, we saw bears and sea lions and whales.
