seb Posted May 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2005 We are taking the train from Anchorage to Whittier in 3 weeks to catch the CCL Spirit. For those that have done this before (it's our first trip), it is my understanding that if you notify the baggage handlers in Anchorage that you are catching the cruiseship they will mark your bags so you don't have to take them from the RR to the cruiseship. Is that the case ? I just get nervous not taking my bags to the cruiseship myself. I've had luggage misplaced before by airlines and it's no fun being somewhere without your bags. If I take them to the ship myself, I'm pretty sure they will make the cruise. I guess my question is this: For my peace of mind, is it close enough to just take the bags from the RR depot in Whittier to the CCL cruiseship myself? Or if not close enough, is there transportation that will take us there? I've been reading these posts and I didn't realize the town had only about 400 residents there. Don't know what the public transportion (taxi-bus) is like. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
