Arriving in New York 28th August. Looking for recommendation for hotels in Manhattan. Last time stayed at Milford Plaza......... ok. bit small but central... Coming from Australia does anyone have any reco's on well positioned, reasonable hotels.

We just stayed at the Novotel Hotel on 52nd and Broadway. It's a few blocks North of Times Square. The rooms are small, but clean and decent amenities. There are room safes and decent-sized bathrooms. The views of Times Square from our room were wonderful!

 

I don't remember the cost off-hand, but because it's further up Broadway, it's not as expensive as, say, the Marriott Marquise. Also, there's a great deli across the street for bagels and a wonderful NYC pizza place right next door to the deli...very convienent!!

Thanks for that info. Will have a look at it on Priceline... etc. etc. Those deli's are fantastic are are open all day and nite.
