Cost of Nook for internet

Recommended Posts

What is the cost of using your Nook on the ship to receive internet service on the Allure?

If you have to pay for WiFi, the cost is $0.65 per minute, which can be reduced by buying a block of time.

I'm not familiar with the Nook, but I do have a Kindle. My Kindle will access the internet using either WiFi or cellular. When my Kindle uses cellular, it's free on the ship.

Do you get cell service after the ship leave from the original port or when you are docked at your cruise stops?

Both. The ship has a cell tower that relays cell calls and data via a satellite. If you use the ship's cell service while at sea with a cell phone, the cost is extra and will be billed to you by your cell carrier. Data costs are especially high with the shipboard cell service. However, my Kindle can use this service at no extra cost to me. Sometimes it does not work, but most of the time it does.
