Punta Langosta versus Puerto Maya

On our last cruise to Cozumel we docked at Puerto Maya but I just checked and our January cruise will be docking at Punta Langosta. I've never been to Punta Langosta but it appears it is right downtown close to shopping which is good but we were also thinking of going to Playa Palancar for some beach time any ideas how long of a ride it is and what a cab ride will cost?

Click on this link, scroll down to map, and I believe it is the Downtown pier. Then you can see distance from the beach .I would estimate about 16 miles.

Can you point me to a schedule that tells what ships are where? We'll be in cozumel on Jan 12th, 2013.
