GummyBear Posted May 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2004 We will be sailing out of San Juan on the Golden Princess in September and have been told that we might be using the Pan American Pier for embarkation. I'm fairly familiar with Old San Juan but have no idea of teh location of this pier. Can anybody help me? Guest Posted May 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Since you're familiar with OSJ I'll give you a couple of reference points. Standing at the Wyndham OSJ, or the Plaza de la Darsena (where the tiny pink "visitor center" is), all of the "local" cruise ship docks will be in front of you. The Barcardi Rum Factory will be to your right across the bay. As you pan to your left, due east, the bay becomes a narrow inlet, and across from this narrow part of the inlet is a small airport. Bordering the airport across the inlet, is where the Pan Am Pier is --- about 1 1/2 miles east of where you are. You can't walk there, and once there there is nothing, I mean nothing!! GummyBear Posted May 31, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Thanks for your great directions. We'll be staying at the Regency before the cruise, it looks like the pier is about 1/4 mile away. We were hoping to leave the ship once we checked-in and wander around OSJ but were afraid the the pier would be too far away. Coolmama_1 Posted July 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2004 You could take a cab back to OSJ for 16.00 each way. There is so much on the ship to do that you might spend the afternoon exploring. The Golden is awesome. You will have a great time!
