Sounds exciting... We'll be doing this in November. Who did you go through for your private tour? You are aware that you need a visa to visit Eygpt on your own. If you book an excursion thru Costa, they take care of that for you. Thanks for any info you can share about the tours...

Hi Tim,

Yes, we are working on visa's right now. We have been told that we can purchase them right at the dock before our tour - 35$ canadian. We booked with Decastro Tours. I have done some research on them and they are a very reputable company. Our e-mails and questions have been answered promptly.

We have also booked private tours for Santorini and Marmaris. Messina is very easy to do on your own, as is Capri. If you want to go to Pompeii, however I would take the ships tour.

Hope this helps.

Diana
