usavvy2 Posted June 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2005 we're considering a private tour to Tuscany with Buenvenuto (sp) or Papilllion. Anyone have any feedback on either company you can share before we make a decision? (Their prices are comparable.) I'm especially interested in ensuring we're back to the ship before it leaves as well as making sure they're safe drivers! :D
Steamboatin Posted June 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2005 We just came back on Sunday June 5 from a 40 day cruise and land tours of Italy. We took a 15 day transalanatic cruise on HAL's Westerdam from Ft. Lauderdale to Rome. Than took the Trafagar 10 day Italian Discovery which is a 10 day northern Italy tour from Rome to Rome. Than did another 10 day Trafagar tour the Best of Sicily from Rome to Rome. Spent some time in Rome between land tours waiting for 2nd tour to begin. We enjoyed both Trafagar tours and would highly recommend both. Not companies you asked about but just back and would highly recommend both tours by Trafagar. With Trafagar we had luggage delivered each night and picked up each morning; full breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, 2 to 3 juices, pasteries, yougat (sp), coffee, tea and all you wanted to eat; lunch on your own; dinners at hotel were OK to very good; speciality dinners were very good; optional excursions were worth the money and excellent. Knowledgeable and helpful Tour Directors and local tour guides. Drivers and buses were new and excellent. Hotels were all OK with elevators and some had balaconies. In Tarramina we stayed 3 nights with a balcony overlooking Mt. Etna and the Med, now you cannot ask for more than that. People on tours were from US, Canada, England, Australia, New Zerland and Hong Kong. Good groups of people on both tours. Received outstanding value for cost of trips. Highly recommend them.
